Pat was one of a kind, so feisty, funny and warm, and so proud of not just her immediate family but of the sparks tribe. She was the one who knew how we were all connected and always made you feel welcome back even if you hadn’t seen each other for years. The last time we met up in Preston for a cousin catch up we laughed our socks off, and I have a lasting memory of looking out of the train window, as it pulled away from Preston station, only to see Julie and Pat blowing me kisses and then doing the morecambe and wise dance on the platform, in a way that only the sparks girls could.
